Aaron Feis, the assistant football coach of Marjory Stonemason Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, was among the heroes whose bravery are now being shared all over social media, according to an eyewitness account the coach used his body to shield three females students who were in the line of fire.

A football player said, “The coach ran toward the gunshots as soon as it started to happen. He was a very selfless man. He made sure everybody else’s needs were met before his own. He was very friendly and approachable.

The school’s football team announced Feis’s death on Twitter early Thursday morning.

People who know the Aaron Feis have been sharing their memories of him all over social media:

One of his football players shared this tweet:

Denise Lehtio, the school’s spokeswoman said, “He was a very kind soul. He died the same way he loved — he put himself second.”

In this article, we did not mention the killer’s name. We do not want to give him the pleasure of making him “famous”. He doesn’t deserve that, rather we would like to honor Aaron Feis’ heroic act — HE WAS THE REAL HERO.

In this time of tragedy, let us all remember this….

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” — Fred Rogers
