Aretha Franklin, the musically gifted self-taught piano prodigy, talented vocalist, and creative songwriter whose gospel songs made her known as ‘The Queen of Soul,’ passed away on August 16, 2018.
“In one of the darkest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our heart. We have lost the matriarch and rock of our family. The love she had for her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins knew no bounds,” Aretha Franklin’s family delivered the sad news to the public.
The Queen of Soul died due to advance Pancreatic cancer at the age of 76, Thursday morning.
“She has been ill for a long time,” a long time friend of the Rolling Stone hailed Greatest Singer of All Time shared. “She did not want people to know and she didn’t make it public.”
Indeed, Aretha Franklin is the greatest musician of her generation. She did not contain herself from using her music in tackling racial and gender issues. From being a humble singer of the Detroit Church, Aretha Franklin rose to stardom with her chart-topper version of Respect.

In respect to the request of Aretha Franklin’s family, her fans across the globes expressed their condolences without overstepping the privacy, the Franklin family is asking for. Meanwhile, the people whose hearts Aretha touched mourns for the beautiful person they have lost.
