What would you do if you were enjoying your lunch when out of nowhere a thief appeared and took your meal away? You would probably be fuming with madness and would like to teach the thief a lesson he won’t forget. But what if the thief turns out to be a dog who is simply following its instinct?!
Two office workers were replenishing themselves with a satisfying pizza outside of their California office. They were in the middle of savoring their meal when one of the workers looked the other way, and to her astonishment, a stray dog came up in a flash and snatched the heavenly slice of pizza right in front of them.
“The starving little dog had jumped up on the table and literally stole a piece of pizza from them and took off running,” Buffy Martin Tarbox, the communications manager of Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA, recounted the event in an interview.
Though surprised, the two employees cannot help but be concerned about the dog thief. They have noticed how thin the dog was, and how swollen its nipples were. The two workers sensed that the gutsy dog has a good reason for its action, and have decided to reach out to the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA for some assistance.
When the rescue team arrived at the scene, they took time to search for the gutsy dog. And as if the dog has sensed help, it led the rescue staff to the location where her six 1-week old puppies are waiting.
Indeed, the alarmingly thin dog was just following her instinct, and that is to nurture her puppies.
“This poor little dog was struggling to survive on her own, eating whatever scraps of food she could find and trying to take care of her babies.”
Buffy Martin Tarbox expressed her admiration for the selfless act of the mom dog. The mom dog who has barely enough food to nurture herself with was doing her best to provide her babies with the nutrition they need!
As of now, the selfless and brave mother and her six puppies were taken care of a foster home. In honor of the royal family, the heart-warming family has been receiving royal treatment and pet name.
Due to the mother’s inspiring sacrifice, she is now named after Queen Elizabeth. Her six puppies, on the other hand, were named as William, Harry, Duchess Kate, Lady Di, Charlotte. and Meghan.
According to the shelter staffs, the puppies have been weaned and are all accustomed to other food. All of the puppies, except for Duchess Kate, who were recently adopted, together with Queen Elizabeth, are all waiting for a family that would welcome them home.
More than 7 millions of companion animals end up in animal shelters every year. Approximately, nearly 3 million dogs and cats from the animal shelters are being put down annually.
Each dog deserves to be loved, each dog deserves a forever home. Don’t buy pets from stores. Save a life and be a hero, the best animal companion in the world need not be bought!
Watch the touching video below and witness the selfless and dauntless deed of the dog, who is trying to do everything she could, to take care of her puppies!
